San Diego County Early Morning Headlines
The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San
Diego County is down seven-tenths of a cent today ... falling to 5-dollars, 13-
point-8 cents. The price is 24-point-5-cents less than a week ago and 59-cents
less than a month ago ... but 47-point-1-cents more than a year ago.
The number of people hospitalized with a coronavirus infection in San
Diego County has risen to 2-hundred-13 ... an increase of 8 from the previous
day ... according to the latest state numbers. ... Of those patients
hospitalized as of Thursday, 24 were being treated in intensive care ... up
from 20 the previous day.
A 14-year-old bicyclist is expected to recover after being struck by a
vehicle in the South Park neighborhood on Wednesday. Police say that just
after 3-30 p-m Wednesday ... the teenager was riding a B-M-X-style bike south
in the 17-hundred block of Granada Avenue ... while a 20-19 Subaru Ascent was
headed east in the 28-hundred block of Date Street. The teen suffered a
compound fracture and dislocation of his left ankle, along with other injuries.
Power has been mostly restored for hundreds of customers in the
communities of Julian ... Santa Ysabel and Morettis Junction. San Diego Gas &
Electric says an equipment issue caused the outage Thursday ... but power is
back on for most people.
